So what happened to the bird flu pandemic?

How long has it been since we last heard the threats of the bird flu
pandemic? I mean, this was something that we were being told by the
governments was going to wipe out our populations unless we got these
life-saving vaccinations. We are talking mass burial graves as "they"
were painting it.

Now, as far as I know, the pharmaceutical companies are still churning
out the medicine to all sorts of countries that fell for the well
scripted plot. But who is actually going to need to use it all?

And the real question is, how come we don't hear about it any more? Is
it not a pandemic threat anymore. Was it ever a real problem? It just
disappeared or was it even there to begin with? Was it just a handy
news filler until the war took over the airwaves?

We gotta keep rethinking everything.

I agree that the pandemic scare looks like it has passed, but don't be fooled. People just get used to ideas. Viruses have their own agendas. Folks are working their butts off trying to fend off this thing as best they can. Something that wasn't done in 1918. People are still getting sick, birds are dying. We have yet to have our own flu epidemic season here in the US, along with the wild bird migration from the north. I don't think it's time for a sigh of relief or scorn yet. And there is next year, etc. And there are other viruses out there we don't know about. When they talk pandemic, they (the virologists) are not only speaking of the bird flu.
Preparedness and education is power. It prevents panic and assures that neighborhoods are stocked with daily necessities in case of any kind of emergency. Common sense. I pray we don't need it.

We at Scott's Spot recommend that everyone stockpile water and toilet paper and set the government's pandemic flu website to refresh every 5 seconds. That way, if the bird flu, er, deadly bird flu, virus doesn't get us, then worrying about it will.

Go with the stockpiling and quit with the worrying. (smile) We are all going to die of something, this just happens to be a phenomenon we can prepare for and have comforts/necessities stocked up for. Makes sense to me as much as if you knew a blizzard was coming.
